Dog breeding has been a damaging trade for dogs over the last 100 years. Through a desire to make dogs as pure as can ben and with traits we find desirable, humanity has infused breeds of dogs with both health problems and changes in physical traits that are readily apparent.
Such as the English Bulldog, which 100 years ago was already wrinkly and had saggy cheeks, but today the features have become thicker, longer, and the body more squat. It has lead to problems breathing and with regulating body temperature.
