We all know how expensive films can be, but the small screen ain’t cheap either. Like most other things, the higher quality shows tend to cost more per episode than the others, and while some shows cost more at the beginning due to set items that only need to be made once, others get more expensive with time due to actor salaries or ratings events. Here are the 10 most expensive TV series ever made.
Terra Nova
$4 million/episode
Fox skipped the standard practice of ordering just one pilot episode to start out and went for the whole shebang- 13 episodes, including a $14 million premiere. The sets and special effects proved way too expensive for the network to keep going with the Australia-based show however, and it probably won’t return to the small screen.
