A pretty magical event happened on Toronto Island over the weekend, and it’s all due to the generosity of Torontonians.
Elise Boissonneault and her fiancee Brandon were due to marry this past Saturday. As the couple was from Cape Breton, but working in Fort McMurray, their plan was to marry in the middle of the country so family and friends could meet in the middle (Toronto) for their wedding.
Alas, the fire changed everything. When they were forced to evacuate, Elise was able to take everything she needed for her wedding, and her 4 dogs and leave Alberta. But she had to leave her wedding dress behind, a dress she had spent the past year searching for, as it was being altered at the dressmakers shop.
As she was leaving Alberta last Thursday, she found out that her house was fine, but the shop burned down, with her dress inside.
Elise’s perfect dress was gone.
