They say that the Canada/US border is the longest undefended border in the world. And it’s also the loneliest. Canadian photographer Andreas Rutkauskas found this out the hard way, after spending 3 years travelling all 9,000 km of the border and photographing it. He calls his series Borderline, and what is show’s is that our borders are far from undefended. There’s technology in place that we can’t see, and members of the CBSA, RCMP and US Border security along the way to keep an eye on things.
Along the way there are over 5,000 pylons that delineate between us and them, like this one in Waterton Lakes, Alberta .
