Habitat 67 is one of the most iconic architectural marvels in Montreal, and it’s one that still fascinates Canadians. Built for Expo 67 as a masters thesis/Expo Pavillion/model community, it’s got this timeless feel to it. On the outside, it’s blocky and brutalist and very much trapped in the futuristic space that Expo 67 conveyed, but inside it’s a free for all. Some of the units still have the same original owners, going all the way back to the Expo, while others have been modernized and renovated.
