Airman First Class KENNETH “K3” Sturgill lived to be a Chiver.
In his every breath, action, and thought, he was the ideal picture of making the world ten percent better.
Through a childhood and adolescence of service to his community and his peers, K3 developed a reputation as a natural leader with an ability to work through any situation safely and effectively. His friends, teammates, and all who encountered him were left better for his presence, however brief.
Ken passed away on July 7, 2016 in the process of SERE selection with the United States Air Force in pursuit of a position as a SERE Instructor.
Through his all-too-short career in service to his country, Ken left a legacy which will ripple through all whom he touched.
“NFQ” was his personal motto and “Service Before Self” was his way of life and he lived it with each moment he had, never failing to put others and his mission before his own comfort or needs. There is no doubt that K3 was, and still is, our hero.
The United States and the Chive Nation are better by far for the presence and dedication of Kenneth “K3” Sturgill. He will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers and in following Ken’s example, the Sturgill’s have requested donations be made in his name to Chive Charities.
God bless you, Kenneth. And thanks for sacrificing everything for us all!
