Every year in Nevada’s Black Rock City, Burning Man festival brings in some of the most amazing spectacles. Everything from pirate ships, to giant post-apocalyptic buses, to flame-firing robots, bring in tens of thousands who seek music, art and a life altering experience (drugs). One of this year’s biggest draws is a massive Boeing 747, which was transformed into the largest art car ever created for Burning Man.
Titled ‘The 747 Project’ this goliath plane was created by a nonprofit organization called Big Imagination. The jet invites festival-goers inside to pass through the “insecurity checkpoint” where they can drop off their “emotional baggage” before discovering where they’re headed in their symbolic “journey through life.” Sounds pretty trippy, right? Well, that’s Burning Man in a nutshell.
Take a quick tour through the newly decorated 747 (which will be fully finished in 2017) and see what has the kids buzzing.
