If you don’t know the name of Ned Kelly, you really should. For a guy, to distinguish himself as one of the most notorious criminals, on an island that started off as a penal colony British criminals, that really takes some stones.
Known as the Iron Outlaw, Kelly was a horse thief, bank robber, rebel, anti-corruption crusader, folk hero and, oh yes, a legend.
(But let’s throw in a disclaimer. It’s not that we condone violence and agree with what Ned Kelly did, because he was a criminal and a murderer. But we do sympathize with his motivations and applaud the style in which he conducted his life, and the sheer badassery that he was capable of in his criminal pursuits. End of disclaimer)
