It’s really not a holiday weekend until you watch “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” Whether it’s a thanksgiving weekend thing or just something you watch during the lead up to christmas, they don’t make them like this one.
For John Hughes’ first attempt at making a film that didn’t involve angsty 80’s teens in love/trouble, he wanted to tell the story of a comedic journey for Neal Page, a marketing executive trying to get home to Chicago, and his travel partner, Del Griffith, a shower curtain ring salesman.
Here’s some facts (that aren’t pillows) that you may not have known about the film. Man… watching this one again makes me miss John Candy so much more.
