Disney fans, I’m sorry to break it to you: but it looks like one of the first pieces of this year’s Disney memorabilia collection is a total bust.
With 2017’s live-action Beauty and the Beast hitting theaters in March, it’s only to be expected that Disney has wasted no time in producing new merchandise to accompany the film (because, hello, cash grab). So, naturally, the company released a new Belle doll in order to solidify the true “Princess Status” of the film.
The doll allegedly favors the appearance of Beauty and the Beast star Emma Watson — however, the internet is collectively roasting the new piece of merchandise for bearing a remarkable resemblance to pop pouter Justin Bieber.
And, in all honesty, the doll’s likeness to the young pop star is truly uncanny.
I’m not sure who was in charge of creating this doll’s visage, but they clearly do not hold Emma Watson in high aesthetic regard. The enormous forehead alone is enough to make anyone who stumbles upon this item in the toy aisle do a double-take.
I mean, to be fair, this Justin Bieber doppelgänger has great eyebrows — but it isn’t exactly a flattering representation of the new Belle.
Some Twitter users don’t necessarily think the doll looks like Justin Bieber. However, they definitely don’t think it looks anything like Emma Watson, either.
That forehead, though.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, it’s pretty clear that the doll, despite its best efforts, is a baffling attempt to recreate one of Beauty and the Beast‘s titular characters.
The good news is that, if Justin Bieber is looking to jumpstart a new line of Bieber dolls, all he has to do is change the hair!
