Back then, however, doctors had a much different take on what a normal diet and lifestyle should be, according to these two books: Diet and Health With Key to the Calories by Dr. Lulu Hunt Peters, published in 1918, and Encyclopedia of Diet: A Treatise on the Food Question, by Eugene Christian, published in 1914.
