A few weeks ago an old friend and coworker of mine, Alexandra, emailed me out of the blue. We worked at Trader joe’s together where I eventually learned we had a mutual acquaintance in her sister who I went to college with. Naturally, we became good friends and I remember her always talking about her aspirations to one day become a yoga instructor. I knew she had the physical ability as athleticism ran in her family and I can specifically recall encouraging her to follow her aspirations whenever the subject came up.
That was in 2010, long before I worked at theCHIVE. So it was to my surprise when I found out that she had indeed followed through with her ambitions as she has since become a successful yoga instructor in California. It’s what she did next that took this story to the next level, something only a driven Chiver can make come to fruition.
Here’s Ali’s story of how she met the military man of her dreams, his unwavering love for theCHIVE, and how together they’ve helped hundreds of deserving veterans.
