Late last week, The National Museum of Mathematics in New York (also known as MoMath), hosted an event called “Star Trek: The Math of Khan”, where a treasure trove of mathematical ideas was discussed and how they pertained to Star Trek. According to a talk by the guest of honour, James Grime, a famous mathematical/motivational speaker, it turns out that it was relatively safe to be a redshirt on an away mission.
