Many countries across the world try to offer inmates that have been sentenced to death, a final mercy in the form of a last meal. Sometimes, they just want something from their childhood, while others ask for everything they could possibly imagine.
In the US, the tradition of the last meal is a grand one, and it dates back to Europe where it was believed that if you granted a prisoner his last meal, then that means that they’ve made peace with their host and won’t come back as an angry spirit. Probably because they’d be too full.
I know exactly what my last meal would be, and it’s not as insane as some of these options. It’s close though.
