E3 is not the largest trade show in gaming, but it is arguably the most important. More media coverage and mainstream news outlets cover E3 than any other gaming event. Over time more and more emphasis has been put on the importance of the E3 awards, which game publishers later use on their boxes to highlight just how much excitement you should have for their game.
However, E3 awards rarely have any correlation to the quality of the final product. Some of the most awarded games of the last decade include SPORE, No Man’s Sky, and even Medal of Honor Warfighter.
So we here at theCHIVE decided that if the awards really lack meaning, then we should add some of our own.
