Here in Austin if you belly up to theCHIVE’s famous Copper Bar and order a vodka drink, you will always get Austin’s own Deep Eddy Vodka. Personally, the Deep Eddy Ruby Red and soda is my go-to drink of choice.
Last month some of our friends at Deep Eddy visited theCHIVE HQ and we conjured a plan over drinks, why not join forces to throw the biggest 4th of July party in Austin? We’d have to go big – The Deep Eddy Betty’s, cigar rollers, and hundreds of patriotic revelers. We even had an idea to bring in beer burros, donkeys with ice satchels full of beer.
Over the coming weeks, The Gatsby South 4th of July Social became the hottest ticket in town. We hosted a contest on theCHIVE for our active duty and vets to make sure our Armed Forces were well represented at the event. I enjoyed raising a glass with y’all. It’s because of you that we have the privilege in America to throw event like this…
Deep Eddy’s distillation process creates a cleaner, smoother and better finished Vodka. We don’t just like Deep Eddy because they’re local, we like it because it’s so damn good.
Ok and we like the Betty’s too. The vintage Deep Eddy Betty’s showed up to get the party started.

Oh yes, we did it!
And no 4th of July bash would be complete without those who serve our country. It was an honor meeting you gentleman. You are the reason for our Freedom, and also the reason I kept my shirt on in this photo.
Thanks again to Deep Eddy, we’ve always been fans and it was a pleasure to host a party with your people, you’ve got a good culture going over there. We hope to make the Gatsby South 4th of July Social an annual event. I don’t know if we can go any bigger than we went this year.
