Tattoos have a complicated history. Over the years, they’ve been a sign of rebellion, self-expression, ownership and of degradation and classification. At the same time, however, they’re great works of art when done right, full of meaning, symbolism and they’re an indicator what what you’re all about. But what if you made a bad choice and got caught up in the wrong crowd, with some bad ideas? What if your tattoo is racist and hateful and you can’t bear to look at yourself anymore.
That’s where Dave Cutlip comes in. He’s on a mission to help rehabilitate tattoos made out of anger, into things made of positivity and hope.
