You may think that you’re mature and that you can handle pretty much any word that comes your way, but according to some scientists from the University of Warwick in the UK, there are some words we can’t help to laugh at.
Researchers took 5,000 different words and asked 800 people to rate them on how humorous they found that particular word. Originally, they were just doing out of curiosity, but the more they explored different words and the reactions around them, they more they realized that this was a great way to understand humour. Or, it’s just an excuse to get people together and say dirty words until someone collapses into a fit of giggles. I don’t know, I’m not a scientist.
Anyways, as it turns out there are some words that people find funnier than others. I’m inclined to agree; these words are amazingly hilarious.
