Yes, I know there was a new Ghostbusters, but it was meh. I want to see the original Ghosties ‘busting stuff, asap. According to a recent interview, director Ivan Reitman was talking about a future live-action Ghostbusters film, and in light of the reboot not being so hot, this might be the one we’re waiting for.
I know that Dan Ackroyd and Ernie Hudson are down, and supposedly Bill Murray’s been reluctant because the script ideas have sucked. I can respect that. It’s got to be good.
The only dark part is the death of Harold Ramis in 2014. According to interviews with Reitman, and Ramis’ daughter Violet, they might be able to bring in a CGI version of Egon. Might as well get Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver back too.
Even if it’s the OG ‘Busters starting off the film and then going out in a heroic blaze of proton power, then a new generation takes over, at least we’d get some closure on Ray, Peter, Winston and Egon.
