If you’ve read the book, or even just seen the trailers for “Ready Player One” you’re probably already excited for the film. If you haven’t, now is the time to start getting properly pumped. In short, the film focuses on Wayde Watts; he and the rest of the world have to spend their time in the virtual reality of the OASIS to escape their dreary reality. When its creator dies, he leaves the OASIS and his fortune to whoever can find his ultimate Easter Egg.
“Ready Player One” premiered at Austin’s South by Southwest Film Festival this weekend and is already being called a “classic Spielberg”. Despite a sound glitch during the screening, critics are giving the movie rave reviews. Additionally, it’s packed with pop culture references from the ’80s and ’90s with nods to classics like “Back to the Future”.
