I’ve never seen it in person, or actually been someone to do it, but apparently people shut off horror films when they get too scary. Recently, Netflix has been promoting a Spanish horror film called Veronica as a film so terrifying that users were shutting it off. Is that the truth? Or is it just marketing? As it turns out, it’s kinda true.
According to Netflix, there’s a list of 10 films on the streaming platform that are too scary for people to finish. To them, if a film labelled horror was only 70% completed, then they could deduce that they were too scary for viewers. They figured that if someone truly despised a film, they wouldn’t make it past 50%, so 70% is a good threshold to determine how much is too much.
I’ve seen about half of these, and those that I haven’t, there’s a good reason. But if you’re braver than I, go for it.
