If you’re not familiar with the ever-eccentric Eric Andre, the ‘Who Killed Hannibal” meme will give you some insight into just how… strange he is. The meme stems from an episode of his show where Eric was doing a rather stiff stand-up set, when he all of the sudden turns around and blasts his co-host, comedian Hannibal Burress, with two full magazines of bullets. Looking perplexed, Eric looks directly into the camera and wonders aloud, “Who Killed Hannibal?” and then spends the majority of the show looking for his killer.
It doesn’t exactly make the most sense, but then, well, Eric Andre rarely does. The internet, never one to pass up making a strange and morbid moment hilarious, started using the scene as a funny way to point out all the fucked up things both people and organizations do, only to pass the blame onto someone else.
