Former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe is offering a scholarship to people interesting in trade jobs like welding, plumbing, and electrical. Rowe started the mikeroweWORKS Foundation to challenge the belief that a four-year degree is automatically the best path for everyone.
This is the fifth year Rowe and the foundation have offered the work ethic scholarship. Applications will be accepted until June 4 and will award the winner a “pile of money.” To date, the program has given away about $5 million to people interested in trade jobs.
Applicants need to be a high school senior, graduate, or have their GED and attend or plan to attend a vocational school.
