Recently Alec Karcher shared a heartwarming story on Twitter about his 10-year-old dog Cody. About two months ago Cody was diagnosed with cancer and was given a few months live. “He was given about 1-3 months to live depending on how fast the cancer spread,” Karcher wrote on Twitter. “My family and I were heartbroken by the news, but we decided we wanted to try and make the last part of his life the best we could.”
Karcher and his family wanted to make the most of the time they had left with Cody. Every day, the family would get Cody a plain cheeseburger to make taking his medications a little easier. While getting a burger from Burger King one day, one of the employees asked why they were getting the plain cheeseburger.
“We told her Cody’s story. She immediately asked us to wait for a second after she gave us our food,” Alec shared. “A few minutes later, she returned after talking to her manager. She asked us for a name, and said that the rest of the cheeseburgers for Cody would be free at their location.”
“I can’t explain how much that means to us, and my family and I are beyond appreciative,” Alec wrote.
