We’ve been through a lot with Netflix. We’ve chilled, binged, downloaded our favorite shows to watch on long trips. You can say the relationship has remained consistently awesome throughout the years. But, unfortunately, nothing stays perfect forever.
Netflix recently started beta testing “promotional advertising” between TV show episodes which is basically a polite way for them to notify us that commercials are coming. That’s right, Netflix is showing trailers of their original programming between tv shows just in case the autoplay trailers while you search isn’t enough.
Thankfully only a few paid members are experiencing the beta testing, and technically it’s not a full-on ad experience, YET. But I wouldn’t bet on things staying that way for long.
I’m guessing Netflix wants to test the backlash it would receive from rolling out such a preposterous idea and as you’ll read, things may get ugly.
