I recently stumbled upon an Instagram account that brought to mind something hilariously awful from my childhood years. The IG page Bootleg Bart compiled an assortment of crudely drawn knock-off Bart Simpson tees that were at one point omnipresent “must-have” items.
These days you’ll be hardpressed to find the once popular knockoff tees, mostly due to changing times/trends & also because copyright lawyers have become far more vigilant. But if you’re lucky enough to spot one at a flea market or second-hand store, enjoy the weird, crass trip back to a time not so long ago.
Be warned, some of these tees are at least borderline racist and insensitive on just about every level.
