Remakes get a really bad reputation. It’s not without merit, there are plenty of garbage movies out there that are remakes of vastly superior films (fuck you, Robobcop [2014]). But some famous movies manage to be remakes without people even knowing, whether it’s because the original film was made in another country, based on a short film, or… Well, there are a couple of movies that defy easy classification, but they’re all remakes whether you knew it or not.
