Maurice German, a now former Verizon employee, was working in Port Richmond when he responded to a distress call from neighbors regarding their cat Princess Momma, who had been stuck on a telephone pole for nearly 12 hours.
The cat owners had attempted to contact the animal rescue, the fire department, and other organizations for help, but nobody would take the challenge on likely deeming the cat not worth the time & risk. Thankfully for the owners, Maurice agreed to help and was recorded in a video from CBS Philly reporter Steve Lindsay, rescuing the kitty with the help of his company’s equipment.
If the title of this gallery didn’t spoil it, sadly, Maurice was not only not met with a pat on the back for going above the call of duty, instead he was canned for taking an unnecessary risk with company property.
