It seems like every other day, there’s an announcement of a new film going into production, based on some best selling novel. In fact, movie properties that aren’t based on someone’s book, comic, or even a video game are few and far in between lately. And while Hollywood has been milking authors for their works for years, it’s one thing to go after a dead author’s estate and make something of it (think Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie or Arthur Conan Doyle), but how about the guys that are still around?
Made me wonder which living authors have the most adaptations, excluding made for tv movies (sorry Danielle Steele), sequels and foreign language ones, because those don’t really count.
Looks like someone really needs to put Mr. King in a timeout.
