With Disney’s endless string of remakes and sequels nobody asked for, many are wondering when the studio will make something original again. Something fresh. Something new, like The Lion King was back in 1994. Well, it turns out Mickey Mouse has always been copying off the smarter Asian kid sitting next to him in class, because The Lion King is a flagrant rip-off of Japan’s Kimba The White Lion.
And much like the classroom’s worst plagiarist, Disney’s effort to make it their own was laughable. Replacing Kimba with Simba? Brilliant! No one will suspect a thing!
