No matter how technologically advanced special effects and motion capture can get, I’m still a huge fan of practical costumes. The human eye is pretty smart, and we can tell when something’s 100% fake, no matter how talented the VFX artist is. And trust me, they’re so unbelievably talented. But, there’s just something about a costume.
Costumes are real; they’re tangible. They’re also prone to falling apart if you don’t care for them properly.
Or, in the case of this costume, if you just leave in a dank and moldy room somewhere to rot. Then it becomes a pure nightmare.
