When you think of the greatest Volcanic disasters in the history of the world, chances are, you know about Pompeii. Back in 79 AD, the volcano erupted and buried the city for 1,700 years, until it was accidentally discovered.
Since then, archeologists and historians have been hard at work uncovering the site, and teaching us new things about the ancient city. Even today, you can take a visit to the site and see the ancient world for yourself.
Frankly, I didn’t even know half of this stuff, and it’s making my brain rumble.
