In this day and age, it seems like the concept of the serial killer is so pop-culture-ized and romanticized, and it’s scary. You’ve got Hannibal Lecter as a charming devil in a nice suit, Dexter Morgan as a sort of avenging angel, and entire movies about Bundy, Mansion and Zodiac, with the leads played by handsome hollywood stars. But the truth is far more terrifying.
The sheer volume of serial killers that go under the radar of our collective consciousness is insane. These guys on this not-even-remotely-exhaustive list have done some truly heinous shit, but don’t have any of the recognition that some of the more popular ones do.
That’s mind-blowing, because they’re terrifying.
