I think we can all agree that when it comes to sports, this has been a weird year. Six months ago, the first NBA player tested positive for the virus and the world of sports had to pivot to deliver what we desperately wanted, in a safe way. Hence, sports in a bubble if you were a fan of the NBA or the NHL.
As for the other, outside sports, there was a lot of talking and negotiating before it was decided that MLB was going to return with a shortened season.
But, is there a point? Do fans really consider these seasons to be real seasons? And will they consider the champs to be legitimate, or “champions” with a huge Asterix?
