Jose Calderon is a Spanish point guard who has become an NBA journeyman late in his career. After starting this season with the Lakers, he was cut by the team right before the trade deadline.
The Golden State Warriors decided to pick up the savvy floor general to add some punch to their bench. However, the Warriors lost their prized small forward Kevin Durant to a knee injury shortly after signing Calderon and decided that they should use their final roster spot on a small forward instead of a point guard and so they cut Calderon to sign Matt Barnes.
