The Queen’s Gambit is a fictional mini-series on Netflix that tells the story of an orphan chess prodigy named Beth Harmon (played by Anya Taylor-Joy.) On her quest to become the world’s greatest chess player, Beth struggles with drugs, alcohol, and some intense emotional issues – that probably stem from some of her God awful hairstyles. Don’t let the fact that it’s about chess sway you from giving it a shot. It’s actually not slow or dry at all.
