Like most things in life, judging the GOAT of stand-up comedy is a very subjective & personal decision. There are so many different types of comedians, who performed in very different eras (thus playing to wildly different crowds).
Below people are sharing who they think the greatest stand-up comedian of all-time is, and I love to hear people’s thoughts on this matter.
I’ll start by naming Bill Burr my all-time favorite. Basically, Bill says the funniest shit that often BOTH cracks up and OR riles up crowds who think he’s not PC enough. Bill doesn’t give two shits what your politics are, nor does he tiptoe around offended people who think he’s not sensitive to the needs of the few. Bill does, and says, exactly what he sees. And that attitude and style of comedy takes major balls in a generation of triggered people who are quick to put on blast anybody who says anything that offends their viewpoints.
