Doug Johnson is lucky to be alive. Nobody knows that fact better than him. It’s been nearly 13 years since Doug attempted to end his own life. The man who was given a second chance sat down with us to do the one thing in this world that’s sometimes harder than anything else to do…talk.

Doug: You’re gonna make me do all the talking.
Zach: Yeah, so we wanted to hear the story that you’ve been sharing on The Shack Discord and just hear about your life.
Doug: How far back do you go? You know, I was born a small child (laughs) no- I had a regular, normal upbringing, middle class family, was married to a wonderful woman for 19 and a half years and near the end of that marriage we became roommates. Neither one of us at fault, but that’s just what happened. Two kids… and yeah, she told me the marriage is over and I took it really badly. Even though I knew it was coming, I took it badly.
