The films we’re looking forward to at SXSW 2025 (20 Photos and GIFs)

This Friday, tomorrow on March 7, the SXSW 2025 Festival kicks off, and just like last year I’ll be providing mini-reviews for the films I’ll be watching. With less than 24 hours before everything kicks off, I wanted to give y’all a slight preview of what I might be covering this year. As always, I tried to find a healthy mix of marquee-title films and smaller independent projects that caught my eye.
I have to say, I think the lineup this year has some really cool oddities within it. Also, keep in mind that just because I list these movies here for the guide, I may not be able to cover them for my mini-reviews. In fact, I may end up covering films that aren’t even in this guide, you just never know. These are just the movies that have caught my eye for now.
I will provide links to trailers underneath each movie’s description where available, but keep in mind that most of these films have no footage available of any kind. There’s not going to be many trailers in this guide:
