Screw it: We Ranked the Farrelly Brothers’ Movies
Name the funniest movies of the last three decades. You’re probably going to cite something made by Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
From the mid-1990s until the present day, the Farrelly Brothers have consistently churned out well-made and unforgettably hilarious movies.
Central to their work: Guys acting like buffoons, guys trying to make up for the mistakes they made while being buffoons, and guys trying to land their dream woman, and usually failing to do so. Also big in Farrelly Brothers movies: delightfully gross humor, physical comedy, and lines you’ll wind up quoting forever.
At theChive HQ the other day, the editors got into a pretty heated discussion about which Farrelly Brothers movie reigns supreme. Eventually, Ty said eff it, let’s take a vote, compile a ranking, and write ‘em up.
A bit on methodology: We only considered true Farrelly Brothers movies. That means no solo work or segments. (For example, Peter Farrelly wrote and directed Green Book on his own, Bobby Farrelly did Champions without his sibling, and their work on Movie 43 and Osmosis Jones is too short to count.)
That left us with 11 movies in which both brothers co-directed at the very least; they collaborated on the scripts for most of their films.
Here then are the Farrelly Brothers movies ranked, from least-best to most-best.
