Let’s talk about the automobile, both the classic and the modern one in terms of design.
There was a time when cars felt they had a point of view. Classic machines weren’t trying to be everything to everyone– they were loud, flawed, beautiful, and built with a clear identity.
You look at old classics, including Ferrari, Mercedes, and Jaguar and you can almost hear the mission statement in the metal. Performance was number one. Style, second, style was just second nature back in the day. Comfort? Maybe. Springs in the seat and lap belts were good enough.
