Somehow, Todd Phillips’ The Hangover was released today (June 5), 17 years ago.
Do you remember when it came out? It took over pop culture for a summer.
Everyone wanted to join a wolf pack and let the dogs out.
The Hangover grossed over $467 million worldwide (on a budget of $35 million) and became the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time.
(It has since been usurped by Ted (2012) and all the Deadpool movies.)
The film spawned a couple of quick sequels, which I think diluted the entire franchise. Like, this would have worked way better as a single movie.
