Indiana Jones: Raider of the Lost Ark turns 45 years old (!!!) today, having been initially released on June 12, 1981.
But the story of Indy goes even further back than that, having initially been conceived by George Lucas in the early 1970s… though he had some other important movie-making to do before getting around to everyone’s favorite adventuring archaeologist.
To celebrate 45 years of Indiana Jones, I decided to uncover some facts about the movie (just Raiders, though perhaps some sequel/prequel facts to follow in later articles) that are so good they belong in a museum.
