If you didn’t they’d be weaving in and out of traffic. This way they can’t leave the white chalk. I’m a cyclist and even I hate cyclists.
I personally don’t believe graffiti is vandalism – there’s a gruesomely depicted story of Dante’s Inferno or some Satanic story on the grocery store wall down the street. It shows a stick figure ripping a demon character apart and ends with giant sprayed painted words PUKE BLOOD SHIT PISS. Then there is a picture of the world.
Is that vandalism? Ancient people would’ve most likely called that storytelling and we’d be preserving the grounds outside this wonderous cave-painting.
It’s a bit extreme. The words could be a bit more selective. But the story counts for something. I’m sure the city will eventually deal with it.
It is better than a giant dick. But is a tag with colourful penmanship (with a can?) and the skill to create a scene vandalism? I’m not convinced.
BUT THERE’S WHOLESOME VANDALISM, LIKE THESE…
