I used to go to the movies all the time when I was a young lad.
There was a cheap movie theatre like 6 minutes from my childhood home.
Tickets were cheap, popcorn was good, and my brother and I would watch a bunch of 2000s-era movies like: Snatch, Scary Movie, Cast Away, Almost Famous, X-Men, Gladiator.
Afterwards, we would stare at the upcoming movie posters for way too long.
And now, I feel like movie posters are just lazy.
Face floating in the center, title at the bottom, slightly smaller faces orbiting all around.
That’s Hollywood’s new formula. It’s obviously been tested well because every movie uses it.
Remember when the Jaws poster made you feel isolated? Or The Exorcist poster that gave you chills? Raiders of the Lost Ark looked like a damn painting.
