Whether you love it or hate it, you’ve gotta admit that McDonald’s is an iconic American institution.
From its unsettling clown mascot to its on-again, off-again love affair with rib sandwiches, McDonald’s has been a firmly established part of the zeitgeist since its founding in 1940.
Which also means that when the internet (and with it, memes) came around, McDonald’s was right there for the clowning.
