Every so often, humanity collectively decides something absolutely bonkers is happening. A mysterious attacker appears, everyone starts fainting, nuns start meowing, or an entire city becomes convinced Satan is running the daycare.
Sometimes there was a real event behind it. Sometimes there was a perfectly ordinary explanation. And sometimes there was apparently just a rumor, a little fear and several thousand people ready to make things considerably weirder.
