The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most beloved movies of all time.
And somehow, it came out 32 years ago today.
The 1994 film is based on the 1982 novella “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” by Stephen King — which would have admittedly been a terrible title for a movie.
Even “Shawshank” would have been more marketable than its current form, but hey… what the F do I know?
The film initially flopped at the box office but it’s now regulalry voted as one of the greatest movies ever made.
