The average college D-1 sprinter runs 100 meters in 10.7 seconds. Pretty damn fast. Fast enough that the rest of us would probably need a defibrillator somewhere around the 60-meter mark.
Then there’s Usain Bolt. On a summer night in Berlin in 2009, Bolt ran the same 100 meters in 9.58 seconds – a world record that still stands today.
