Trick-or-Treating is a pretty well-known cultural practice, right?
Kids dress up in outfits, bang on strangers’ doors, and get a tiny morsel of candy for the trouble.
As someone with a sweet-tooth, it was consistently my favorite night of the entire year when I was a kid, to the point where I would draw out maps of my neighborhood to strategize the most efficient route. But during all that time — and the ensuing trips to the dentist — I never once wondered exactly why this was all happening.
